I grew up in Arizona. In 1990 I married Marne’ Garlick of American Fork and we settled in Alpine in 1994.

We have seven children: Ruth, Benjamin, Mazie, Gabriel (deceased), Emma, Elijah and Luke.
I’ve worked for many years in the software industry and I’m currently working as a software developer at BYU.

We love living in Alpine. I love the view of the mountains, the great schools, hiking around Alpine, friendly neighbors, and Alpine Days.
Politics
When I was young we lived in the small town of Patagonia in southern Arizona. An elderly Christian Scientist named Edith Breyfogle lived at the corner of the block. She became friends with my parents. One summer when I was about nine or ten years old my parents sent me and my older brother, Chris, down to her home to study The Law by Frederick Bastiat. I’m not sure I understood a whole lot. But between that and my parents example something must have stuck because I’ve been interested in politics ever since.
